How Did She Do That?

April 29, 2009

This is my DH and I.

The paper and circle are plain white card stock that I altered to make it look more "Groovy!

I've never tested this method for it's long term effect on photos or other papers, so use your own discretion if using this tutorial to make paper. I have done it a couple of times in the last year and have not noticed any change in the photos or papers.

Okay, now let's make some paper!

Cut your shape out of card stock or use whole piece. Make sure you put something under the paper such as a towel or piece of card board as food color will stain.

I just hold mine under the faucet for a bit to make sure it is thoroughly wet. Shake most of the water off, but do leave it wet.

You will need food coloring
rubbing alcohol (in a spray bottle)

Put a few drops of each color of food coloring on paper. It should spread out some at this point when it mixes with the water.

Then spritz with the alcohol. I use a sponge to dab off the excess food coloring and alcohol. Air dry or use a blow dryer . Do not use paper until it is completely dry.

I call this the Poor Mans Alcohol Ink Paper!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop back again!!
