The Butterfly Effect

May 29, 2009

This layout includes many different mediums. I used chalk, ink, punches and some homemade flowers to put it together.

For the masked butterflies, I used a cut out butterfly and just inked lightly around the edges. When you lift the butterfly off, all that is left is the white (negative) of the butterfly!

The leafy vine on the right side of the picture was made by using a small leaf stamp and overlapping the leaves for a more dense look. I then cut them out as a whole piece to lay on the photo.

The corners were made using a scalloped edge punch, but I left the edge piece attached. It makes a really nice border effect.

The flowers are simply silk flowers that I took apart in layers. They are actually a five petal flower with three layers of petals. Using a hot glue gun, I started by making a small bud and adding layers of curved petals to make it look like a rose. they were pretty easy to make really.

Thanks for the visit!
